A Free Day & 1st Class For £2 More | Avanti West Coast

With Mrs Jomo out for the day, I had a free day to myself. I finally made the visit to Crewe Heritage Centre I’d been putting off for far too long.

I headed down on London Northwestern and decided to return on Avanti West Coast. When I checked the fares, First Class was only £2 more than Standard — an absolute no-brainer. I made the most of it too: the lounge at Crewe before departure, coffee and snacks on board, and a stop into the First Class lounge at Liverpool Lime Street on the way out, which I hadn’t had chance to check out in a while.
