Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood (FLL)

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) is an international commercial airport located in Dania Beach, three miles (5 km) southwest of the central business district of Fort Lauderdale. It is also located near the city of Hollywood and is 21 miles (33.7 km) north of Miami. Due to its close proximity to the cruise line terminals at Port Everglades it has also become popular among tourists bound for the Caribbean.


The Tri-Rail station is not connected to the airport terminals but a shuttle bus, the FLA 1, connects with the nearby station. The shuttle stops outside each terminal.

The Tri-Rail connects the airport with Miami Airport and Palm Beach. Weekday trains leave every 20-60 minutes, while they are every 2 hours on the weekend. The fare ranges from $2.00 – $9.25 depending upon distance traveled.


Broward County Transit Route 1 to the Airport. Route 1 travels along Federal Highway to the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport. One way fare is $1.25.

Bus stops are located at:

* At the west end of Terminal 1
* Between Terminals 2 and 3
* Between Terminals 3 and 4

Routes 4, 6, 15 and 16 also connect the Airport Tri-Rail station with other destinations in the Greater Fort Lauderdale area.

Keys Shuttle runs shuttles from Miami Airport & Fort Lauderdale Airport to the Florida Keys. There are 6 departures per day. Fares range from $70 – $90 depending upon destination.


Taxis are available on demand at the Transportation Podium located outside the baggage area on the lower level at the curb of each terminal.


Many of the Greater Fort Lauderdale area hotels offer free shuttle rides from the Airport to the hotel.

A number a private shuttle companies operate from the airport providing service to the Greater Ft. Lauderdale area.

Car Rental

On-site car rentals are now handled at the Rental Car Center. Passengers arriving at Terminal 1 should follow Rental Car Center signage to the Concourse B Pedestrian Bridge. Passengers arriving at Terminals 2, 3 and 4 should follow Rental Car Center signage to the passenger pick-up area for free shuttle bus service to the Rental Car Center.

The airport is served by Alamo, Avis, Budget, Continental, Dollar, Enterprise, E-Z Rent A Car, Hertz, National, Payless, Royal and Thrifty.
